Check out this ‘Halloween Kills’ behind-the-scenes footage

Halloween

One thing that we’ve been kind of bummed about in this current Halloween season is the relative lack of horror movies at the multiplex. Sure, you’ve got Countdown for all the teenagers who need their jump scares to conveniently come in between make-out sessions; you’ve got The Lighthouse, which is a brilliant film, but it’s not…. well, trashy enough for our butter-soaked popcorn munching; and if you’re a film critic over the age of 50, you’ve still got Joker to yell about. It’s a sharp contrast from last year, when Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria remake was annihilating our brains, and, more relevantly, David Gordon Green’s Halloween was dominating the box office. Thankfully, we’re about to get a whole hell of a lot of Halloween over the next few years, as Gordon Green and company are returning for two sequels, the first of which, Halloween Kills is currently shooting in North Carolina.

And, as a present for all of you horror nerds out there in the world, the Queen herself, Jamie Lee Curtis, shared some footage from the film’s set on Thursday, perhaps to put some pep in your step as you suck it up and go to see the new Terminator movie after the trick-or-treaters head home. It’s only 20 seconds worth of behind-the-scenes B-roll, but it is well-worth taking a look at.

Peep it:

Now, that’s what we’re talking about! Michael Myers! The Strodes! New characters! David Gordon Green! It certainly looks like they’re making a Halloween sequel down there, that’s for sure. And, honestly, we’d be pretty stunned if this were all an act to prevent fans from knowing what they’re really doing: making Michael Myers into the next iteration of Alfie, following in the footsteps of Michael Caine and Jude Law.

Halloween Kills hits theaters on October 16, 2020. Happy Halloween, y’all.
