There are more than a few shows happening at Royale in November that we wish were happening in this last week of October, like Sasha Sloan (November 16), Angel Olsen (November 19) and Kim Petras (November 22 and 23). But we are treated this week to perhaps the spookiest of all spooky szn shows, as Chelsea Wolfe brings her impeccable new album Birth of Violence to the Theatre District venue this evening (October 29), the latest stop on her Birth of Darkness tour. A Chelsea Wolfe show two days before Halloween feels like a special kind of autumnal treat, but we’d feel that way about the California native delivering her intoxicating blend of gothic rock, doom metal, and folk music at any point on the calendar.
