Each year, October brings with it a heightened sense of darkened dance floors across the Boston area, with weathered locals and touring artists coming together under the month’s more interesting shadows for some year-defining parties and performances. So we were especially pleased to see tonight’s (October 22) show at ONCE Somerville spring up on our digital calendar, as the night welcomes Scandinavian duo Lust For Youth to the Highland Avenue club, headlining a fantastic bill with Vanyaland faves House of Harm and Boston’s Limousine. Much like Body of Light’s Time To Kill, Lust For Youth’s 2019 self-titled record is helping usher in a new age for synth-pop, one straddling a line between surviving this dizzying apocalyptic era of modern times and a self-born fit to feel something resembling normalcy. This evening, Lust For Youth show off their many electronic-pop sides, all of which fit nicely into an October mood.
