As any promoter or musician will attest, it’s hard enough to get folx out to see local music on any given night in this town, let alone a homegrown festival on City Hall Plaza. So as the first Boston Local Music Festival descends on Government Center this Saturday and Sunday (September 28 and 29), along comes a helpful Spotify playlist to help us get acclimated with some of the performing bands and artists music fans might be unfamiliar with.
This weekend’s fest, presented by Winter Hill Brewing Company, features around 50 performances over its full two days, including Salem Wolves, Pyramid Thieves, Analog Heart, The Knock Ups, Carissa Johnson, Baluchitherium, 2019 Rock and Roll Rumble winners Set Fire, and a bunch of others.
Some of those bands are included in the playlist below, curated by Heather Timmons on Spotify, and it’s a solid starting point for what’s in store this weekend, which should provide a good opportunity to discover something new.
