As Screaming Females approach their 15-year-anniversary as a group, the New Jersey trio are retracing their musical history on their forthcoming release Singles Too, due out October 18 via Don Giovanni Records.
Comprised completely of non-album recordings, such as early 7-inch singles and digital-only b-sides, the LP puts Screaming Females rarities on CD and vinyl for the first time. As a bonus, both the CD and digital versions of the album will include six covers, reimagining songs from artists like Neil Young, Taylor Swift, Sheryl Crow, and Patti Smith.
Today’s announcement (August 19) also came with the release of “Let Me In,” an aggressive and totally par-for-the-course shredder originally released in 2014 with the single “Wishing Well.”
“On the first single we ever put out, there were mistakes that I made playing guitar that make me want to crawl into a hole and die,” notes guitarist Marissa Paternoster of the sessions for “Arm Over Arm” and “Zoo of Death.” “At the time I didn’t know I was allowed to say, ‘Can I do that again and correct it?’ I was 19, giving it my all.”
The band’s infomercial-style promo vid, which you can check out below, dishes on some of the tracks, including a demo version of 2015’s “Hopeless” and the album’s one remix, a new version of “End of My Bloodline” from All At Once.
