‘Avengers: Endgame’ is getting new post-credits scenes

So, the first round of press for Spider-Man: Far From Home is well underway, which means we’re going to get lots of little tidbits about that movie, the MCU as a whole, and potential Avengers: Endgame surprises. However, it seems Screen Rant won the scoop sweepstakes, as they asked Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige the right question at the right time: Will Avengers: Endgame be getting an extended cut? And if so, will it be released theatrically? The answer may surprise you. Well, it won’t, given that you read this article’s title, but whatever.

Feige told Screen Rant:

“Not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theaters with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie. If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises. Which will be next weekend.”

Pro-tip: Feige means June 28 here. We imagine he doesn’t want to step on Toy Story‘s toes — it’s just common courtesy.

So, hey, that’s kind of cool! If you were one of the people who was really pissed at Marvel for not giving you just a little taste of the future, this might be for you (honestly, we were just happy that we finally got to go to the bathroom after all three hours of that movie, so maybe this will work!). And, of course, this is all being done so that Endgame can finally beat Avatar at the worldwide box office, but whose to say that people won’t wander in to a screening of the movie and just stand near the exits rather than sitting through the entire thing again? Obviously, we’re not telling you to do that — don’t be a loser, buy a ticket or use A-List or whatever — but it’s worth wondering how many people are really going to double or triple-dip here.

That said, there is at least one dude who might be happy about the change-up in content, and that’s the Florida Man who has seen Avengers: Endgame 117 times now. Kudos to Marvel for making one of his next viewings a whole new experience.

The new Avengers: Endgame will hit theaters on June 28.
