Photo Gallery: Passion Pit and The Beaches live in Boston

Editor's Note: Welcome back, Michael Angelakos. Last night Passion Pit returned to the city of its birth, packing out Boston's House of Blues for the latest stop of the band's tour honoring the 10th anniversary of debut album Manners. We remember the record's Spring 2009 release like it was yesterday, as Angelakos' brilliant songwriting and unparalleled electro-pop smarts helped changed the sonic landscape of this garage rock town. But within the band, Manners delivered a new maturity to Passion Pit's sound, elevating the somewhat minimal synth-pop of the earlier Chunk of Change EP to a bolder, more refined blast of textured electronic-pop that gave us defining tracks like "The Reeling" and "Little Secrets." Last night, Angelakos brought the LP in full back to Boston, opening his set with the album from start to finish before encoring with a selection of the band's other notable hits, like "Carried Away" and "Take A Walk." Vanyaland's John Hutchings was in the room capturing images of it all, including a few of openers The Beaches, and you can scan through his full, up-close gallery below.
