Is it odd that we’re not that excited for Toy Story 4? Look, we know all the reasons we should be: It is, after all, a brand-new Pixar film, featuring Woody, Buzz, and the gang back in action, and it has an incredible voice cast (with new additions Tony Hale, Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks, Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key, too). But we’re kind of frustrated that we’re going to rip up the picture-perfect ending that Toy Story 3 left us with in order to do whatever the hell this movie wants to do. And, with its newfound emphasis on Forky, the non-toy toy voiced by Hale, it’s hard to imagine it being anything other than a retread of the first couple of films. Anyways, Disney dropped a trailer for the film on Tuesday to distract from their ever-growing monopoly in the film industry, so make sure you think of all the people losing their jobs at 20th Century Fox this week while you watch this.
Take a look:
Here’s the synopsis:
“Woody has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. So when Bonnie’s beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky, declares himself as “trash” and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy. But when Bonnie takes the whole gang on her family’s road trip excursion, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep. After years of being on her own, Bo’s adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior. As Woody and Bo realize they’re worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find that’s the least of their worries.”
Toy Story 4 hits theaters on June 21.
