It’s a little over a month until the Russo Brothers’ highly-anticipated Avengers: Endgame hits theaters and, despite being so close to its release, fans all over the world have been clamoring for a new look at the mega-blockbuster. We’re not exactly sure why, given that, again, it’s so close to release, and we often find that trailers generally have a chilling effect on our in-film enjoyment of a movie (we always remember bits and pieces of the movie and can generally start assembling the film as a jigsaw puzzle in our brains at the beginning of the movie), but you asked, and Marvel hath given it to you. They dropped a new trailer for the the film on Wednesday morning, and it is… well, a whole lot of footage from the earlier movies in the series!
Here’s the trailer:
Well, that’s just the way we like it. There’s a lot of fun teasers for things to come: Cap on the battlefield, wearing his new armor, our first look at War Machine’s new suit, and Thor’s first meeting with Captain Marvel, fresh off of making a fortune at the box office this past weekend. And we don’t need anything else, Marvel. Just keep on showing us the same ol’ preview, especially on TV. Maybe even reuse the Super Bowl ad, for Christ’s sake.
Here’s an official synopsis:
“After the devastating events of ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.”
And the brand-new poster:
Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26. Better get your tents and chairs ready for that week in line like it’s 1999 all over again.
