Tony Capobianco has no idea what’s going on. Admittedly, he’s a self-proclaimed non-expert in most things, but what he does know is that it’s important to take a look at the world around him and laugh at the little things.

With his new weekly podcast, Do You Even Laugh?, the Walpole native sits down with some of his favorite comedy voices, and sometimes with just his own thoughts, to delve into the funny little details that seem to get overlooked in the midst of chaos. And while it may sound blissfully ignorant to some, as a comedian himself just crossing his six-year mark behind the mic, Capobianco sees the outrage taking place every day as a matter of perspective heavily influenced by media.

“Looking out at the world, it’s really not that scary outside,” Capobianco tells Vanyaland. “When you turn on the news, the world is on fire, or there’s a new scandal, or someone’s getting crucified on social media every three days, and it just gets really exaggerated sometimes. It’s really not that bad. If you just turn off the news and get away from social media for a bit, you just have to take a moment to laugh at the little things.”

Capobianco has been itching to get into the podcast game for awhile now, but since everyone and their mother has had the same itch, he really wanted to make sure that his angle was unique. Ironically enough, it was the flaming dumpster fire of society that lit the spark under Capobianco to create an outlet to escape from it. And while he’s looking to create a space for listeners to get away from the craziness, he’s also looking for a place to just say what he feels needs to be said.

“It was really only by coincidence that all this crazy stuff is happening in our society,” he adds, “so I figured I would throw my hands in the ring and see what happens, and just have a space to purge my thoughts and reap those consequences.”

With the ‘cast only four episodes into its journey, Capobianco is hoping to see the show pick up steam as he trudges forward with it. But in all reality, he just wants people to be honest with him when it comes to how they feel about it. “If I really wanna be vain about the whole thing, this whole endeavor is just to drive attention to myself,” he says with a chuckle. “But I truly do want people to listen in if they like it, even if they have something to say about what I’m talking about, then that’s cool too.”
