Catfish and the Bottlemen unveil ‘Longshot’, North American tour

The Welsh rock made good on their recent teases by supplying a swifty new guitar-rock tune that should please fans

We’re not exactly ones to ever really doubt Catfish and the Bottlemen. So when the Welsh rock band starting teasing something big to help ring in the New Year, we figured we’d hear new music. Turns out we here in the States will get to see them, too.

Some of us, at least.

The lads returned today with their first new music in three years, a swifty guitar-rock tune called “Longshot,” and word of a 15-date North American tour that brings then to The Van Buren in Phoenix on March 18 and NYC’s Brooklyn Steel on April 3. Oddly enough, there are no New England dates, but hopefully something gets added after the Brooklyn show. And hey, there’s always the possibility of Boston Calling if they want to stick around into May.

Catfish and the Bottlemen are set to release a new album sometime in 2019, and “Longshot” serves as a pretty god example of where the band’s sound is at these days. Listen to it below via its official music video, a clip shot on a seaside cliff just outside Newcastle and directed by long-term collaborator Jim Canty.
