Back in September, Vanyaland Film Editor Nick Johnston reviewed Teen Spirit up at Toronto International Film Festival. He didn’t particularly care for it, but that’s not why we’re gathered here today. The pop jukebox musical, the directorial debut from Max Minghella (The Handmaid’s Tale, The Social Network), is now eyeing a wider Spring 2019 release, and to get us excited — well, some of us, at least — its first official trailer hit earlier today (December 27), and it features Teen Spirit star Elle Fanning singing Robyn’s modern-day electronic-pop masterpiece “Dancing On My Own.” That’s pretty much enough to get us interested, though feel free, between right now and springtime, to revisit Johnston’s in-depth review to get a better feel for the film.
