Cousin Stizz, Cliff Notez, Sidney Gish, and Oompa take home top honors at Wednesday's awards ceremony

Sponsored by Studio 52. A community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.

Editor's Note: Another marathon Boston Music Awards just wrapped up at The House of Blues a few hours ago (December 12), and if you missed anything, Vanyaland has you covered.

For the fifth time in six years, we were named "Music Publication of the Year" (originally called Best Music Blog), and Vanyaland photographer Emily Gardner was named "Live Music Photographer of the Year." Check out her work here.

In the major categories, Cousin Stizz was named Artist of the Year (as well as Hip-Hop Artist of the Year), Cliff Notez took home New Artist of the Year, and Oompa, who delivered a spirited and commanding live performance midway through the awards show, won Unsigned Artist of the Year and 617Sessions Artist Winner. Joyner Lucas, who was nominated for two Grammys earlier in the week, won Music Video of the Year for his powerful clip “I’m Not Racist", Sidney Gish scored Album of the Year for her No Dogs Allowed LP, and Latrell James' "Okay" took home Song of the Year.

The night featured 10 musical performances as well, welcoming short but lively sets from Ashley Jordan, Cliff Notez, The Devil's Twins, GHOST GRL, OC45, Oompa, Party Bois, Valleyheart, and others.

Vanyaland's John Hutchings was in the photo pit the entire night capturing visuals, and you can scan though his full gallery below.
