Editor's Note: Oh, Lily, we missed you! Everybody's gal Lily Allen returned to Boston last night (October 24) for a sold-out gig at The Paradise Rock Club, bringing to town her No Shame tour, named for her incredible new album. Vanyaland's Scott Murry was at the 'Dise to capture photos, and he reports back: "Minutes prior to Lily taking the stage, a stagehand set out warm tea and throat spray for her. Early on, Allen warned that she'd been battling a cold, and sounded like a howling cat in New York days prior. Tonight her voice powered through with a supportive crowd. Prior to playing her newest track, 'Party Line,' the liberal Brit urged anyone Republican in the audience to cross the party line. She followed up with "You should definitely not be Republican -- they're a bunch of assholes.' Cheers boomed from the sold-out crowd just as loudly as when she played her 2006 debut hit 'Smile.'" Opening the show was S-X. "Emerging from the UK underground as a producer, S-X opened with deep bass grooves to get the crowd dancing," Murry says. "Pacing back and forth appearing unsure how to command the stage alone, the sole performer held his own with soothing high notes. Before wrapping up, he ensured everyone had his Instagram account down, spelling out each letter of his handle and asking for pictures of him looking good." Check out Murry's images below.
