Nothing, Swirlies, Big Bite, and Smut live at The Sinclair

Editor's Note: There are festivals, and then there are four-band club shows that feel like their own brand of mini-fest. That was the vibe last night (October 7) in Cambridge, as a fairly inspiring four-band bill of Nothing, Cambridge's own Swirlies, Big Bite, and Smut rolled a wave of guitars into The Sinclair for a Sunday-night-but-it-feels-like-Saturday-night kinda party. Philadelphia's Nothing led the charge behind their intricate August album Dance on the Blacktop, and the Swirlies had their own pocket of newness to show off in the form of last month's Magic Strop: Tonight EP, but Seattle's Big Bite and Cincinnati's Smut gave Harvard Square plenty to digest. Ben Stas was in the room and all over its warm confines to capture visuals of it all, and you can scan through his full gallery below in reverse order of appearance.
