Back in July, Gunship dropped a synthwave gauntlet with “Dark All Day”, a Song of the Year contender that featured alt-pop singer Indiana and the proper saxophone stylings of legendary ’80s Lost Boys sax-man Tim Cappello. It was a summer jam that suggested massive things were on the way from Gunship, namely, via the full-length album of the same name that was set to hit in the fall.
To get us in the mood, the British electronic-pop trio hit these streets once more with “Woken Furies”, a riveting slice of outrun that continues to shape the cinematic qualities, retro-futurism, and layered sonic textures of Dark All Day. Gunship write: “Richard Morgan (Altered Carbon) said it best: ‘Pull on the new flesh like borrowed gloves, and burn your fingers once again.'”
“Woken Furies” was written and produced by the Gunship trio of Dan Haigh, Alex Westaway and Alex Gingell, and mixed by Carl Bown at Treehouse Studios. The single features officially licensed artwork by Maciej Kuciara.
