‘Bad Times at the El Royale’ Trailer 2: Shit happens, get the whiskey

Bad Times at the El Royale

After four long weeks of boiling temperatures and garbage at the multiplex, Hot January is slowly coming to an end, and, movie-wise, we’ve got an absolutely packed fall to look forward to. Hell, in less than a month, we’ll be enjoying Assassination Nation, The Nun and a new Predator movie, and that’s only September!

There’s so many great films coming out this fall that, in fact, it’s easy to forget about less-advertised movies like Drew Goddard’s Bad Times at the El Royale (which is crazy, given how absolutely stacked its cast is). Luckily for all of us, 20th Century Fox dropped a brand new trailer for the film on Tuesday, and it, much like its soundtrack, looks too good to be true. We certainly couldn’t take our eyes off of it.

Take a look:

Well, that looks like some great fun. Again, that cast just whoops ass: For our four main characters, you’ve got Jon “Packin'” Hamm in full Baby Driver mode, Jeff Bridges back in the Rooster Cogburn saddle (at least in mannerisms), Cynthia Erivo bringing her musical talents to the big screen, and Dakota Johnson, who probably is happy to be doing some more lighthearted fare after working on Suspiria with Luca Guadagnino. Oh, yeah, we forgot about Hemsworth doing his Charlie Manson shtick as well, and boy, he looks fucking terrifying, doesn’t he?

Here’s a synopsis: “Seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, meet at Lake Tahoe’s El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past. Over the course of one fateful night, everyone will have the last shot at redemption – before everything goes to hell.”

Bad Times at the El Royale hits theaters on October 5. We can’t wait to smuggle a flask into this one.
