Editor’s Note: Every time Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks come to town, it feels like a special occasion. And last night (June 12) was no exception, as ol’ Steve rolled into Cambridge’s Sinclair showing off a ridged new album, May’s Sparkle Hard (shout out in particular to “Shiggy”). Malkmus was apparently feeling under the weather, but he and his band powered through with their standard cool professionalism, and they even threw in a few Pavement songs for good measure. Ben Stas was front and center for it all, capturing some live Jicks action as well as shots of the opener, Oregon post-punk minimalists Lithics. Scan through his full gallery below.
