Editor's Note: By the third day of a music festival, you're running purely on adrenaline. Add in subpar weather (a classic New England springtime mix of rain, cold, and wind) and it falls on the bands and artists on stage to keep spirits high. Luckily, that's what happened Sunday (May 27) for Boston Calling's third and final day at the Harvard Athletic Complex. The Red Stage was fevered mix of styles, led by a rising superstar (headliner Khalid). Beforehand in the Red, Toronto guitar-rock hearthrobs Alvvays, Chicago rapper Taylor Bennett, and Dorchester hip-hop game-changer Cousin Stizz kept the sonics at proper heights (Boston's STL GLD opened the day festivities, but a Red Line delay, ironically enough, kept us from acquiring proper visuals; check our interview with them straight from the Ferris wheel). Matthew Shelter was up front for it all, and you can scan through his full Sunday gallery from the Red Stage, in reverse order of appearance, below.
