Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.
One of our bigger disappointments in 2017 was the unexpected dissolution of Aüva, the Boston dream-pop band who seemed to have a bright future ahead of them. While their various members have gone on to make music here in Boston and beyond, vocalist Miette Hope has continued her former group’s knack for moody, sophisticated pop. As the Colorado Springs native gets set to play the Middle East in Cambridge tonight (March 2) — on a fantastically diverse bill alongside Doom Lover, Cliff Notez, and Matthew Connor — we turn our attention to her recent collaboration with Trevin Kraus. The track is titled “Can’t Hold It Against You”, it dropped last month, and features Hope’s cloud-like vocals over a warped, piano-led pop groove. Hope is set to release a solo single fairly soon (she teased it in a recent Facebook video), so until then, we have this collab and her show tonight to hold us over. Featured photo by Robyn Walsh.
