‘Name a bitch badder than Taylor Swift’ clapback fuels stories of inspirational women

Fans of “name a more iconic duo,” allow us to introduce you to “name a bitch badder than Taylor Swift,” the new feminist clapback meme that we we didn’t know we needed.

Last month, one Swiftie hopped on twitter and posted a shot from the “Look What You Made Me Do” music video, challenging followers to name a “badder bitch” than Taylor. In turn, the internet had a lot to say -- with more than 10,000 responses.

Spurring on the hashtag #badderthanTaylor, replies to the tweet poured in with stories of inspirational women, past and present, who have done a lot more than rock a leotard and '80s perm for a song about petty revenge. Responses ranged from well-known figures like Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai, to unsung heroes, family members, and warrior queens.

"I think 'Badder Bitches than Taylor Swift' should be a coffeetable book with all those bios of inspirational women," tweeted @kdc.

From Harriet Tubman to Mary Shelley, we’ve compiled 20 of our favorite responses, highlighting some champions for women from around the world.
