It’s Comic-Con week in San Diego, and you know what that means for all of us losers at home: A boatload of trailers and the comforts of our own couches, free from the masses of unwashed nerds waiting in line for the Young Sheldon panel. We’re actually kidding, because we’re super jealous of those who get to drink free Johnnie Walker Blue at a replica of the noodle shop from Blade Runner, but at least we get to see cool stuff like this new trailer for Pacific Rim: Uprising.
Check it out:
We’re kind of excited!
Sure, it may not have Guillermo del Toro aboard as anything other than a producer, but Steven S. DeKnight was pretty instrumental in making Spartacus and Daredevil work on TV. Plus, those new Jaegers look pretty sexy (though we do miss the worn and rough look of them in the first film, but these are new top-of-the-line units), and we’re stoked to see that John Boyega has joined the party as the son of Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba) from the first film. We’ll give it a shot!
Pacific Rim: Uprising re-cancels the apocalypse on February 28.
