Four is an important number in Boston. It’s worn on the backs of star athletes like Bobby Orr and Isaiah Thomas, it’s the amount of years most students spend here in college, and it’s usually the length of time (give or take a year) it takes to figure out how to get from Allston to Jamaica Plain.
On Friday, May 19, Vanyaland celebrates its 4th anniversary with a little get-together at Hojoko in the Fenway, capping off a week’s worth of celebrations both digitally and IRL.
All are welcome to join us at our favorite izakaya as raise a glass to the past, present, and future and welcome live performances by electronic-pop project Photocomfort, and the newly-formed guitar-rock supergroup no hope/no harm (featuring members of The Sheila Divine, The Field Effect, and The Good North). There will be other surprises unveiled between then and now, and there is no cover or admission fee to come party with us at this all-ages celebration.

If you’ve been with us since our May 2013 launch, then by now you know how we roll. But we will say this: It’s been a remarkable four years for us here at Vanyaland, and we’d love nothing more than to celebrate with the city we love dearly. Preview both performing bands below, and stay tuned for more announcements in the days leading up to the event.
