Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.

Two of Massachusetts’ noisiest bands are coming together in sweet vinyl harmony.

Black Beach and Nice Guys announced this morning (May 1) they are teaming up for a new split seven-inch that will feature two new songs by the former and four new tracks by the latter. Illegally Blind is throwing the release party, June 15 at Great Scott in Allston, and the bill also features Ovlov and Cavemen.

Black Beach bassist Ben Semeta tells Vanyaland the collaboration “just made sense.”

He adds: “We been playing in the city together for a few years at this point. We both had some songs that we wanted to release and it felt like a good idea to do it together. When we like first mentioned it to certain people in our crew they were like ‘Uhhh, duh?” Or ‘it’s about time.’ Plus, I think touring together will be a blast.”

Semeta says the record is “an intense, barely nine-minute record… if you’ve seen us play a basement together, you’ll know what to expect.”
