Editor’s Note: Warning — taking photos of At The Drive-In can be hazardous to your health. Just ask Tim Bugbee, who was at the House of Blues in Boston Saturday night (March 25) shooting the reunited Texas rock band for Vanyaland. At one point during the show, Bugbee caught the whipped mic cord of animated frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala right around his neck… all part of the danger of working the photo pit at an ATDI show. “When the cord coiled around my neck I immediately got it off,” Bugbee tells us of the close call. “[I] didn’t want to find out when Cedric would put tension on it.” As you can see from the gallery below, Bixler-Zavala and the rest of ATDI were all over the stage, in town touring this spring’s comeback LP in•ter a•li•a. Luckily, Bugbee survived the show; check out his full gallery below, including a few shots of opener Le Butcherettes, who proved to be a far safer experience for the photographers up front.
