We’ve just wrapped up our latest South By Southwest party with Berklee College of Music (revisit the live stream if you missed it on Friday), and we’re already mapping out plans for the 2018 edition. One student artist who is already on our radar is Amber Ais, a Stoughton native who on Friday, just as we were getting down in Austin, released her debut single. The track is called “Vegas,” and it’s a coy, alt-R&B pop jam with subtle hints of Americana and soul.

On her Soundcloud, where “Vegas” is featured, Ais writes that the single is “an ambient pop song that speaks of unrequited love.” It’s clear the singer/songwriter — who began singing in church at the age of three before deciding on a career in music by 15 — possesses a mind to blend myriad genres and styles, and we’re already anticipating her debut EP, Seattle, due April 7.

We’re sure we’ll be hearing more from — and of — Ais in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, allow the dreamy swoon of “Vegas” to run a swirl around your Monday morning woes.
