Studio 52 Spotlight: Choke Up
What Studio 52 Says: We’ve been big fans of Choke Up since they joined our community a few years ago. Their 2015 debut album Black Coffee, Bad Habits has been on constant rotation for us since its release, and has easily become one of our favorite local punk records. Apparently the same can be said for the folks over at Somerville’s Winter Hill Brewing Company, because this Sunday (March 12) they’re hosting a “Night of Song and Drink” where Choke Up will be playing some select acoustic tunes, new and old. Speaking of new music — you’ll also be able to listen to their new LP. What could be better than that? How about a special Winter Hill Brewing beer named for the band? Their aptly labeled “Dark Mountain” oatmeal stout will be available for all who attend. The event is free, and it’ll be held at the Winter Hill Brewing Company located at 328 Broadway in Somerville from 7 to 10 p.m.
