Earlier this week we celebrated Jimmy Page’s 73rd birthday with a Feints cover of Led Zeppelin’s ’70s classic “Black Dog.” Quick jaunts around the internet’s musical hallways led us to another cover featuring Feints singer Amy Douglas, and this time it’s a powerful a capella choir rendition of George Michael’s “One More Try.”
Douglas recorded the song “with nothing but me… rubato, kind of free…” around 2 a.m. in the morning after Michael’s sudden death on Christmas Day at the age of 53.
“I was devastated to learn that George Michael, one of my favorite singer songwriters was taken from us on top of the growing list of heroes and icons that the universe decided to recall,” the Boston singer writes on Soundcloud. “So I basically slugged down some liquid courage, brought a box of tissues and just… did this, all vocals are me for better or worse.”
Feel the emotion.
