Still Lusting For Life: Here’s the alleged track listing for the ‘Trainspotting 2’ soundtrack

It feels weird to write, but the long-awaited sequel to 1996 cult flick Trainspotting hits theaters later this month (January 27). While we’ve gotten news of the plot, details on the cast, and a look at certain scenes via the trailers, little is currently known about the soundtrack.

And that’s no small detail, as the original’s soundtrack holds up as one of the greatest of all time.

Back in November, we learned that Wolf Alice were set to appear, as the British rock band could be heard in the film’s teaser trailer. Today, Esquire is reporting that the Trainspotting 2 OST tracklisting leaked via Amazon pre-order (the link is dead), and it looks promising.

It also reminds us that Britpop is dead. This ain’t ’96 no more.

Oddly enough, a Prodigy remix of Iggy Pop’s iconic “Lust For Life” kicks things off, and we’ll have to reserve judgement on that. Some classic artists surface — Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Blondie, Queen — and a few new faces get their due (Young Fathers, Fat White Family). There’s that incredible Run DMC vs Jason Nevins cut of “It’s Like That”, and a peculiar track from Underworld titled “Slow Slippy.”

Can’t wait to hear this thing — if, it turns out, this is the real deal.
