As expected, Santa Claus is coming to town on December 25. Dave Mustaine is beating him to Boston by nine days.
The Megadeth frontman will perform a special acoustic set of his own familiar metal hits and a few “holiday classics” at the Boston Hard Rock Cafe on Friday, December 16. The rare acoustic appearance is part of Ernie Boch Jr.’s Music Drives Us fundraising series.
Music Drives Us is a local charity connected to various youth music programs in New England.
Mustaine’s performance is billed as “Thrashing Through The Snow”, and tickets are $100. VIP passes are priced at $250, and include an eat-and-greet with the metal veteran before the show. Proceeds from the event will support Music Drives Us “and their mission of keeping music in New England schools.”
Megadeth just wrapped up a fall tour with Suicidal Tendencies, Amon Amarth and others, and two weeks ago it hit the DCU Center in Worcester.
