When Melanie C isn’t busy telling good-natured jokes about Adele, the one-time Sporty Spice has been revisiting her past glory as a British pop icon. Though she won’t be joining Melanie B, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell in their latest project GEM, Melanie C still reps the Spice Girls live on stage.
Last night at the Roundhouse in London, she teamed up with Danish singer and songwriter MØ for a feel-good rendition of the Spice Girls’ ’90s hit “Say You’ll Be There”. In the video below, you can see the very moment the crowd realizes it’s Sports Spice — and they proceed to lose their collective shit.
Writes Melanie C on Insta: “Tonight I had the honour of sharing a stage @roundhouseldn with this incredible woman @momomoyouth she slayed #songs #vocals #energy #attitude She was inspired by the Spice Girls as a kid now she inspires me #proud #girlpower ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”
Now that MØ has wrapped up her United Kingdom tour, the “Drum” performer sets her sights on Europe and North America. Her stateside run begins November 15 in San Diego, and she hits Boston’s Paradise Rock Club on December 2. That show is very sold out.
