It’s 2016, and we’re still sitting here wondering why the Sounds never became one of the biggest bands in the world. Luckily enough, we have the albums to fall back on, and today the Swedish electronic rock band emerged out of nowhere to announce they are dusting off 2006’s Dying To Say This To You for a 10th anniversary North American tour.
That tour hits Brighton Music Hall in Allston on November 27. Tickets are on sale now.
“We realized earlier this year that it was 10 years ago that we released our album Dying To Say This To You and embarked on a journey that took us on tour around the world for almost two years straight,” the band writes online. “This was a magical time in our lives and we shared it with so many of you. Now we like you have gotten a little older, some have gotten married, had children, and it has been many years since we’ve hit the road. We knew that when we did decide to go back out, it had to be for something special. After the response we have gotten from all of you over this year on how much this album meant to you, we knew it was time.”
The Sounds will be playing their sophomore album — which birthed essential y2k-wave hits like “Tony The Beat”, “Queen Of Apology”, and “Song With A Mission” — in its entirety on all dates, a 27-show trek that kicks off November 15 in Salt Lake City and wraps December 20 in Seattle. And there might be some added treats along the way.
Maja Ivarsson and boys note that they’ll also be playing “other favorites from all of our albums, and yes, even some new music. We are bringing along some friends Zipper Club and My Jerusalem as well to make this an unforgettable night, everywhere we go! We’ll see you at the party!”
Hot damn.
