Kanye West abruptly stops New York show following news of Kim Kardashian gunpoint robbery in Paris

Following reports of his wife Kim Kardashian West having been robbed at gunpoint in Paris, Kanye West suddenly cut short a headlining set at the Meadows Festival in Queens, New York Sunday night. Video from the concert shows West stopping just as the song “Heartless” started before hastily relaying to the crowd, “I’m sorry…family emergency…I have to stop the show.” Moments later, with the house lights up at Citi Field, an announcement was made that, “There’s been a family emergency; Kanye West is not onsite.”

Earlier in the evening, news broke that Kardashian West, in France attending Paris Fashion Week, had been robbed, confirmed by her spokesperson Ina Treciokas, who said in a statement, “Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening, by two armed masked men dressed as police officers. She is badly shaken but physically unharmed.”

The following has just been released by organizers of the Meadows Festival via their Twitter account:

The Meadows Festival show was part of West’s Saint Pablo Tour in support of this year’s The Life of Pablo. Back in June, West’s headlining performance at day three of New York’s Governors Ball was cancelled due to severe weather. There are still a dozen plus gigs scheduled on the tour, including tomorrow night in Philadelphia and a three-night stand at the Los Angeles forum later in the month. While no official statement has been made yet, it’s safe to assume at least a handful of them will be rescheduled or postponed.
