High-profile British indie collaboration The Last Shadow Puppets have been spicing up their recent live sets with improvisational jams about other bands. The Alex Turner and Miles Kane effort, who were just in town last month for a hip-swinging performance at the House of Blues, have busted out off-the-cuff songs about Tame Impala and The Arcade Fire, and this past weekend at Lowlands Festival in the Netherlands, turned their grooved attention towards LCD Soundsystem.
The apparently title-less track was captured on fan-filmed video, which you can watch below.
As the NME notes, LCD Soundsystem were headlining the Dutch music fest alongside Muse and Disclosure, which may have led to the Puppets’ sudden fit of inspiration. Turner shouts out the New York band and references frontman James Murphy as noise envelops the stage.
“I’m excited about LCD Soundsystem,” Turner deadpans.
It’s a shame the band didn’t take on this game at their Boston show — it would have been cool to hear the lads’ take on Aerosmith, The Pixies, Dropkick Murphys, or another of our city’s musical luminaries.
