Last month, Ash’s breakout sophomore album 1977 turned 20 years old. Someone must have just reminded the band, because they will be taking the record back out on the road later this year for an official 20th anniversary tour.
And somewhat incredibly, the tour includes a North American swing that finds the Northern Ireland trio playing the Middle East in Cambridge on October 10. Ticket pre-sale begins tomorrow.
“We’re as excited as we are in disbelief to announce the 20th anniversary tour of 1977,” the band writes. “Some of these songs have grown with us throughout those years; others have the ability to transport us mentally and emotionally back to that crazy formative year of 1995 to ’96. These gigs are going to be a trip, trip, trip!”
For us here in the States and Canada, Ash will play 12 dates, starting September 21 in Los Angeles and wrapping October 6 in Brooklyn, before heading back to the United Kingdom and Europe. Full dates are below.
Ash’s 1977 includes hits like “Oh Yeah,” “Girl From Mars”, and “Kung Fu”. They all still slay to this very day.
