Back in February we all lost our collective shit when Letters To Cleo suddenly declared themselves a “current” band with new music on the way. A few months later, it appears the beloved Boston alt-rock group is making good on the promise.
On Friday afternoon, Kay Hanley posted a short Instagram video from Los Angeles, briefly documenting the recording process, and more specifically, “background vocal day”. It’s a pretty humorous clip, with different scenes edited together, but if you listen closely, we thiiiiiiiiiiink we can hear some new Letters To Cleo songs.
Yes, Friday just got real.
You can easily hear lyrical references to a “turnpike” and a “winter coat”, so clearly the California-living Hanley has Massachusetts on her mind. Or so we can only hope.
