Bar Raised: Bruce Springsteen opens Brooklyn show with cover of Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’

The Boss just raised the bar for Prince tributes.

Tonight in Brooklyn, Bruce Springsteen opened his first show since the iconic musician’s passing with a cover of “Purple Rain”. According to reports, the stage at the Barclays Center was lit in purple, and Springsteen and the E Street Band came on with no introduction and started playing the anthemic 1984 song, much to the delight of the sold-out crowd.
