Here’s a different kind of happy Monday to jumpstart the week — The Stone Roses are coming back to America.
The massively influential British rock band have announced a June 30 date at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It would be the Roses first stateside date since playing California’s Coachella Music & Arts Festival in 2013 and first East Coast date in probably 20-plus years.
The band just tweeted the flyer for the MSG show this morning. Rodrigo Y Gabriela will open, and tickets go on sale this Friday.
So far, it looks like this NYC show is the only North American date on the band’s 2016 itinerary, which includes a June 15, 17, 18, 19 run at Etihad Stadium in The Stone Roses’ hometown of Manchester, England, a July 8 appearance at UK festival T in the Park, and a July 9 show at Marlay Park in Rathfarnham, Ireland.
More to come…
