The Providence music scene in 2015 has seen a year of distinct progression in numerous ways. The hip-hop community made a comeback with numerous albums and EPs being released; MCs and rappers are going old school by using vintage samples on their tracks, and a few hip-hop artists have even started using a live band. There has also been a new crop of bands coming up with young kids in their late teens and early 20s making waves with pure energy and passion. With all of this happening, a lot of bands who have been cutting their teeth over the years are finally getting the national attention they deserve.

The city has become even more vibrant when it comes to its local music scene and it looks like it’s going to be staying that way for a while. New festivals keep popping up and every few months there’s always a new space or venue that starts looking to have musicians grace their stage. It’s truly a special time in The Creative Capital, people take a lot of pride in their homegrown culture and it forms a contagious community. To highlight this amazing year of things musically heading in the right direction, here are the Top 10 Providence Tracks for 2015:
