10. Lana Del Rey, “High By The Beach” [Polydor]

The first time I heard this song was just this December while my friends smoked up in while crossing the causeway from Miami beach to the Wynwood district during Art Basel. As I admit I am fairly late to the game on this tune & album, I saved Lana for last on my list. The fetching pop hook is undeniable & as I feigned a hit I found my normally anxious self soothed — not by the THC, but rather her tranquilizing voice & breezy vision. Could life really be full of such a dreamy ease shunning reality? No, not during an East Coast winter — but probably if you happen to be looking out of the window onto palm trees & waves.
