New Zealand Royals: Lorde, Naked & Famous, Kimbra and others star in charity single

While we’re all eagerly awaiting Lorde’s follow-up to 2013 breakout album Pure Heroine, the New Zealand alt-pop star has been keeping busy with collaborations. She’ll appear with Disclosure on the UK duo’s new album Caracal, out later this month, and this week she has teamed with other musicians from her home country for a new charity single.

The cheeky “Team Ball Player Thing” was released by the Cure Kids charity in aid of Batten disease, which according to the NME is a rare recessive neurodegenerative disorder. Appearing alongside Lorde in the clip are Daniel Bedingfield, Flight Of The Conchords, members of the Naked and Famous, Kimbra, and Broods.

It’s a nice show of New Zealand’s current musical muscle, and the whole “Team Ball Player Thing” should appeal to all the non-sports fans out there. Plus, there’s Lorde.

Lorde.
