Currents Event: Listen to Oh Malô perform musical surgery on two new Tame Impala tracks

It’s been a pretty intense year for Oh Malô.

The Boston rock band has spent the past 10 months releasing their color-themed EP trilogy (Blue in October 2014, Red in February, and Orange in May), and earned a reputation as one of our city’s brightest new bands, crushing stages everywhere from the rock club circuit to house parties to the Institute of Contemporary Art.

Now as Oh Malô get set to perform at the Sound Of Our Town 2 party next month at the Lawn On D in the Seaport District, the quartet has released a mash-up cover video for Tame Impala’s “Disciples” and “I’m A Man”. The weave-work is pretty flawless, and though Oh Malô is no stranger to unexpected covers — check their take on Jason DeRulo’s “Wiggle” from last year — we hope this makes its way onto the #SOOT2 set list in a few weeks.
