Stay Home: Watch Courtney Barnett’s video for ‘Nobody Cares If You Don’t Go To The Party’

We just wrapped up a full hour on VanyaRadio where we plugged about a dozen cool rock shows going on around Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville tonight and this weekend. All of those are super vital and require your attendance.

That one party, though? Yeah, that one. Not so much.

Agreeing with us (for the measure of this exercise, at least) is Courtney Barnett, who today dropped a new video for recent single “Nobody Cares If You Don’t Go To The Party.” It’s Barnett’s latest offering from acclaimed album, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, led by still-killer Song Of The Year contender, “Pedestrian At Best.”

For the new video, directed by Jon White, Barnett played a pop-up show August 17 in London’s Camden neighborhood, and having the video ready less than a week later is some crazy turnaround-time skill. To tease the clip, as Pitchfork notes, the song’s title started appearing on billboards around the world, and a teaser video surfaced in early August showing Barnett getting rudely awoken by an alarm clock blasting the track.

Check out both videos below, and eyeball our photo gallery of Barnett’s May show at the Sinclair in Cambridge.
