Boston, consider yourself in the good graces of NOFX.
A few days after rolling through the House of Blues for the Fat Wrecked For 25 Years Tour, NOFX took issue with an alleged hipster attending their August 10 show at the Cunard Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The punk band even offered the fan, located near the stage and decked out in a beard and tie-dye, apparently, $100 to leave the gig immediately.
“You have no business being here,” frontman Fat Mike tells the fan, via the NME. “I will pay you $100 to leave this show. Are you gonna stand in front and bother me all day with your fucking tie-dye shirt and your beard?”
Adds guitar player El Hefe, in the video below: “We have a no hipsters rule. No hipsters tonight.”
The fan declined the offer, but took a quick $20 to lose the shirt, which was disposed of by the band. He kept the beard and the show resumed.
No such incidents were reported earlier in the week when NOFX played Boston, so we guess we have that going for us.
