UPDATE Sept. 24 @ 10 a.m.: Win tickets to Boston Calling via the V:List.
The schedule for next month’s Boston Calling Music Festival is starting to come into view, with The Avett Brothers, Of Monsters and Men, and Gregory Alan Isakov announced as Friday performers. This upcoming edition of Boston Calling takes place a bit later than usual, from September 25 to 27.
In other news relating to the September slate, Grizfolk is out “due to an unforeseeable conflict in the band’s schedule” — the Swedish alt-pop group also dropped off the May festival earlier this year — and will be replaced by electronic pop wiz Skylar Spence (the artist formerly known as Saint Pepsi). Skylar Spence has some local ties, as vocalist/producer Robert DeRobertis is a Boston College alum.
The Saturday and Sunday schedules will be released in the coming weeks. The rest of September’s lineup features: alt-J, Alabama Shakes, Hozier, Chvrches, Ben Howard, Chromeo, Walk The Moon, Nate Ruess, Father John Misty, Sturgill Simpson, Misterwives, Daughter, Twin Shadow, Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks, FIDLAR, Doomtree, Bully, Dirty Bangs and Grey Season.
