Perhaps the stage was still smoking after last night’s Slayer show, because the Sinclair was evacuated earlier tonight after a fire alarm went off at the start of the fourth Rubber Tracks Live Series. The alarm rang out in the packed Harvard Square venue during DJ Frank White’s opening set, before performances from Michael Christmas, Action Bronson, and headliner Chance The Rapper.
The room was evacuated — which gave Action Bronson a chance to mingle with fans on Church Street — and people were allowed back in through the main doors after a minor delay.
The reason for the alarm was not made public.
“One of the alarms was tripped, but when fire got there they took a look where the alarm went off and all was clear, so we were able to re-open,” says Bowery Boston’s Josh Bhatti. “All went smooth and the fans were great and cooperative.”
The rest of the show went on as planned.
Converse Rubber Tracks Live concludes tomorrow with Descendents, King Tuff, and Bent Shapes.
