Covering Taylor Swift is so hot right now. Earlier this month Charli XCX “punked” up mega-hit “Shake It Off” for the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge series, and last month in Portland, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks tried their hand at “Blank Space”.
The cover went down at You Who, an Oregon-based variety show for kids. Reads the description: “At the request of his daughter, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks plays Taylor Swift’s hit ‘Blank Space’ at the Crystal Ballroom as part of a YOU WHO Family Rock Show on January 11, 2015.”
That little girl right in front knows the song right away. Good on her.
