Play Ball: AC/DC announce Rock or Bust stadium tour that kicks off in Massachusetts

Fresh off the veteran rock band’s pre-Kanye performance that kicked off Sunday night’s Grammys, AC/DC have announced a 13-date North American tour of ballparks and stadiums. And it begins here in New England with an August 22 show at Gillette Stadium.

Other dates include Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Wrigley Field in Chicago, and Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium. Tickets to the Gillette date go on sale February 16.

Over the weekend, AC/DC returned to form with a two-song set at the Grammys, busting out current single “Rock or Bust” and classic hit “Highway To Hell,” where the music industry folk in audience all donned the devil horns they usually only reveal in closed-door meetings.

In addition to the August and September tour, AC/DC will headline the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 10 and 17, and tour Europe afterwards.

Chris Slade will be on drums for the upcoming Rock or Bust World Tour.

The last AC/DC world tour was from 2008 to 2010, where Angus Young and crew played for more than five million fans in 28 countries on the Black Ice World Tour.
