Californiaflation: Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea is really upset with the New England Patriots

Everyone seems to have an opinion on #DeflateGate this week, even musicians from cities that don’t have NFL teams. Last night and this morning, for instance, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea took to twitter to take not one, but two shots at the New England Patriots over the controversy surrounding the weight of game balls during this past weekend’s AFC Title game.

“Patriots caught cheating AGAIN,” Flea fired off last night, before going in harder this morning: “All this defending of the pats. Doesn’t matter if they would of won anyway. Fact is they are cheaters. Caught twice now. No integrity.”

The outspoken Chili Pepper has been on social media pretty much all day going back-and-forth with Pats fans, and it’s pretty entertaining. Wrote Boston DJ T-Rex: “@flea333 maybe you guys can write another song about California soon?? That’d be original.”

Perhaps Flea, like other Los Angeles musicians like Taime Downe of Faster Pussycat, adopted the Seattle Seahawks as his NFL team after the Raiders and Rams left for the not-so-greener pastures of Oakland and St. Louis, respectively.

Here’s Flea’s tweets…
