The fifth installment of Boston Calling is no joke.
The May 22 to 24 music festival at Boston’s City Hall Plaza announced its Spring 2015 lineup this evening, with Phase 1 rolled out via social media and a city-wide “Find The Vinyl” scavenger hunt, and Phase 2 unveiled via video compilation at Tasty Burger parties in the Fenway and Cambridge’s Harvard Square locations.
The full lineup is a 23-deck doozy: Beck, Pixies, My Morning Jacket, Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, Tenacious D, Tame Impala, St. Vincent, TV On The Radio, Marina & the Diamonds, Vance Joy, Jason Isbell, Gerard Way, Tove Lo, Chet Faker, Run The Jewels, The Lone Bellow, Sharon Van Etten, Jungle, MØ, Grizfolk, DMA’s, and local upstarts the Ballroom Thieves and Krill.
Hot damn.
Imagine the glory of hearing the homegrown Pixies play “Where Is My Mind” just after dusk on a nice spring day in the heart of Boston? Or watching Allston underground heroes Krill shine in their moment in the sun? Or the dance party set off by Tove Lo, Marina & the Diamonds, and MØ?
We’re already daydreaming of potential highlights.
Early-bird tickets (three-day pre-sale and VIP passes) go on sale Wednesday at noon EST (use promo code “BOSTON”), with general on-sale starting Friday. Individual daily schedules should be announced in the coming weeks. Here’s the Spring 2015 poster for full visual digestion, with videos and links for each artist after the ad-mat jump.
